My birthday boy and smarty pants

I can't believe my baby is 1. This past year has flown by so fast, it seems like yesterday we were coming home from the hospital. Conner has grown a lot and he is becoming more independent, demanding, and vocal. He is such a cute little guy; he makes me laugh all the time. He is on the small side unlike Cooper. He is below 15% in both weight and height, but he is an eating machine. He is also about ready to start walking by himself, which would probably help him keep up with his brother better.

Birthday Boy and Daddy
No surprise he liked the cake!

Cooper's new obsession is the states...the United States of America. He got a Leap Pad for Christmas with a U.S. map and since then has learned all 50 states. We were pretty surprised when he started telling us where states were and what family member lived there. Then we bought him a book for $1 that has pictures of each individual state and now he can name each state by just looking at it's shape. He's a smarty pants alright and I just hope he always finds learning fun.

It's good to see a post - how stinkin cute! Have you taught him the Fifty nifty united states from thirteen original colonies...song that we learned from Mrs. Black in 5th grade? I bet he'd love it and can learn all the states in song form!

I didn't learn the states until 4 or 5th grade and I still think I'd struggle with a few of those small ones back east. Amazing little guys!
